  • So last weekend was very eventful, as opposed to this weekend which has been primarily prepping for Fantasy Football and cheering on Lance Armstrong on his quest to win his 6th straight Tour de France.

I finally posted the pics from last weekend’s merriment… click here . Most of the pics are just of my girlfriend and I, but I am afraid to take pics where I know they wont come out too well becuase of lighting…

So last weekend I trucked myself to NY after work on Friday. Riding greyhound, tho cheap and fast, has its draw backs such as some of the strangest people.  There was this mother with her infant son and I woke up during the trip and found her changing the baby’s diaper right in her seat, I was like “No you didn’t!”, so I just closed my eyes and nose and went back to dreamland.  Saturday, I took my gf to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.  This would be the second time I had seen it, after buying and watching the dvd a week earlier the show just seemed to be missing something… the “stand-in” for Christine was just off key and was not the prettiest lamb in the flock, so that sorta distracted me a bit.  But the show was great and the Phantom was quite good and entertaining.  Then after the show we met up with my gf’s sister and her bf and drove down to Maryland to go to the Michael Buble concert at Wolftrap.

For those that have not been to Wolftrap yet you just have to go, it was so relaxing to just kick back and bring your own food and drinks, people came in with the loveliest picnic baskets and very prepared for a long evening under the stars.  This was the first Michael Buble concert I had been to and boy was I impressed, I mean the man ran up into the lawn seats and ran basically all around the park posing with his fans and getting mauled all while the music kept playing… that was just awesome and impressive to me, he really controlled the crowd and his songs were very lively.

This is as close as we got to him.. it is a very bad pic, but I just wanted to show you all how nuts it was!

Then we went to the 4th of July fireworks at the Capital.  And who should we run into at the metro but Reywing himself and Veronica!  That was surreal, and the chances were just plain nutty!

     (my chin aint that fat!)

But we enjoyed hanging out and catching the sun and listening to a disappointing Beach Boys and GLoria Estephan concert… we were pretty far from the fireworks as well, and next time I will make it a point to be as close to the Washington Monument as possible to have the fireworks blow up right over my head.

Then the best part of the week for me had to have been watching the Reunion concert of Digable Planets at the 930 club… they were off the hook and will be coming out with a brand new album next year, their first in 10 years.  Their performance and stage presence was just energizing and the music was on point.  I tried recording some of their tracks onto my cell phone but that did not really work out too well.
