What a long weekend… finally catching my breath and still smiling through it all…
My baby graduated from NYU Graduate School!!!! YAY!!!! It was just amazing to see you walk up there on stage and get that MASTERS!
(I dont have a picture that I can post of her at this time but when my Tito sends me a pic I will post it)
But I also had a very eventful Saturday. My dear cousin, John G., got married to the beautiful Lai G. at Georgetown. It was surreal helping my mom plan the wedding and to see everything finally come together…. And Monique just looked stunning

Been awhile, had to work the front desk this past week so I had to watch my online surfing a bit since you never know who will mozzy on up to the office. Been fun having something somewhat stable at least til the end of May with the good payrate, allows me to pay off my debts and save up for a car in September.
Life with my gf has been going good. She is graduating next Monday and we will be attending our first wedding together this Saturday, ode to the future ahead for us. Who knows what I could be shopping for next!
Been hangin alot with my high school boys, this is exactly what I needed since I been back from SD. Those guys mean the world to me and have been there for me every step of the way. One of them will be getting married next year… the first one to go

Had an interesting day today… I was told secretly that the place I am working is planning to keep me through the end of May!!! That is super stellar news esp. concerning this is by far my highest paying job, I enjoy working there and learning the ins and outs of Georgetown U, and the people I work with are really swell! Good news good news!
Then I fielded a call from an old man who was describing me in a bad way since he left me something to give to the President… the phone conversation went something like this:
Old man: yes, I would like to talk to the President.
Me: I am sorry, he is busy at the moment and his secretary is in a meeting.
Old man: Yes, are you the kid I spoke with last week?
Me: I dont know what you mean sir
Old Man: The chinese national sitting at the front desk.
Me: (stunned, like what a way to describe somebody… and describing someone as a “chinese national” doesnt that just sound racist?)
Well sir, it depends what day did you stop by…
Old Man: yea, it was you.. .I would like to speak with someone else.
Me: Sorry, no one else is available… Can I take a message?
And that is basically how it ended. I was pretty weirded out, I should have come up with something witty to say…

How to beat those annoying phone calls and junk letters
Three Little Words That Work !!
The three little words are:”Hold On, Please…”saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.
Then when you eventually hear the phone company’s “beep-beep-beep” tone, you know it’s time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.
These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.
(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end? This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone. This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a “real” sales person to call back and get someone at home.
What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!
(3) Junk Mail Help:
When you get “ads” enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these “ads” with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.
When you get those “pre-approved” letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.
Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 37 cent postage “IF” and when they receive them back.
It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was around 50 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.
One of Andy Rooney’s (60 minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn’t get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn’t on anything you send them.
You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 37 pence!
The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let’s let them know what it’s like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they’re paying for it…Twice!
Let’s help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that’s why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea !
If enough people follow these tips, it will work—-

So I heard on the news today that some looney Congressman is seeking to close down the Whitehurst Freeway because the residences living in the condos, that were built after the freeway was already a fixture of DC, think the freeway is an “eye soar”. The Whitehurst Freeway was built in 1949 and serves as the fastest route around the bad traffic on M Street Georgetown, besides serving in a cameo in the X-Files movie. I can’t believe that they are even considering taking the freeway down since it is the only road in DC that actually works! Ok, I am done venting about that issue.

Had a pleasant weekend and the resonation of SIN CITY is still on my mind. What a great movie all around, storyline, visuals, acting, violence, politics, and artistry. I highly suggest that everyone go see this movie to escape the reality and day2day life, this film definitely kicks you in the nuts a few times but the things the director does and how closely it matches the comic book are truly unparalleled. If you liked the Kill Bill’s and just enjoy a trip to the dark underbelly of an alternate universe this movie is right up your alley….
I also attended the 4th Bayanihan held at Darnall Hall. Very proud of how Club Filipino organized and were able to earn some good money while entertaining the audience. It definitely felt like things are alot different then a few years back when it seemed as though we could not get very many people to come to our events and now it seems as though we are a regular powerhouse at Georgetown. On the other hand, I definitely feel more and more apart from the organisation I help reconstruct… I feel that the club does not take advantage nor take care of their alums and that that relationship is lost oftentimes.
