  • So I was talking to a good friend of mine online.. and I was telling her that I saw her at the mall but I just did not say “hello” because it was like a split second.

I think I have a pretty good awareness about when I see people out in public, usually before they see me… unless they have the same problem as me about approaching people.  So ya, I am pretty sure that I have a problem with running into people in public when it is not planned.  For instance, if I see someone coming down and pretty sure they have not seen me yet, I tend to pretend like I am looking another direction… Like I am terrified for them to see me and me not knowing what to say.  I am sure I have done it to everyone reading this… I just have a fear in my head that I am the last person anyone wants to see in public and be seen talking to, I do not know where exactly that stems from.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can get over the awkwardness?

  • Yikes, I just found out that one of my co-workers is an inner Star Wars geek!  of course, not to the magnitude as I, but still geeky like me nevertheless.

  • SPAM could very well be the greatest food to ever be created.

  • Wow, things are definitely starting their countdown… 3 months to go!!!

Monique and I got our first gift that we registered for.  The box arrived yesterday and we were just scratching our heads as to what it could be…we have not made it public yet where we are registered so someone out there must really like being ahead of the crowd.  We were just so overjoyed with the package.

Spent a good part of the evening ironing out who was going to be paying for what with regards to the wedding.  It is going to be pretty nasty!  And of course leaving us pretty broke since we will be paying for alot of the things within our control and having some family help pay for the things that we do not have as much of a say in… such as food, music, and set up.  But there are still plenty of expenses to go around, and lots of little trips in the PI planned for those guests that venture all the way to the islands.

  • Last week I got a letter from my high school president saying that one of the Jesuit Priests who had been teaching at my school for the past 15 years had been accused of inappropriate “touching” of a student.  There were 2 letters present.  One was a letter from him and the other was a letter from the Jesuit order.

His letter seemed so cold and abstract from the situation and from the priest… definitely trying to put his distance from the whole matter.

The whole thing is just too bizarre and rather strange.  I am sad for my former teacher and the fact that he is no longer allowed on our campus and further that he has been kicked out of the Jesuit order and cannot perform any more priestly duties.

My brother knows some information and quite adimently defends the teacher and the whole situation.  And it does not help that the student’s family is a heavy donor to the school…. but geez.

This teacher was definitely one of the most influential teachers over the past 14 years at the school… he led all of the spiritual retreats, he did all of the plays, he knew everyone’s names, and he was always ready to help and listen.  It is a sad day for my alma mater.
