  • I am back in Maryland… I arrived at noon after a loooooong 26 hour drive from Armirillo Texas to Derwood Maryland.  I thought the first stretch of the trip was long but after checking in Armirillo with pouring rain and hail and trying to catch the Season Premiere of Smallville and having to spend a coooool $70 for 1 night (biiiiig rip off) really put a sour taste in my mouth about checking in to another place before getting home.  So the whole trip was about 14 hr the first stretch + 13 hours at the hotel + 26 hours = about 53 hours, not bad… esp. since i did the whole thing solo.

I entertained myself with 26 hours of the Da Vinci Code on CD, and just alot of radio searching and listening to some mixes… so many little observations here and there when you take long drives and drive at night as opposed to the day cross country… I despise driving through the desert states and finding myself in ghost town rest stops… aaaaaaaaaahh!  the second leg was much easier as there were more established rest stops and they werent 80 miles apart..  so ya, definitely need a good strategy when driving cross country.

It was really dangerous driving through the Shenandoah region since I was completely dozing off, I mean I cant even remember long stretches of the drive and would only wake up to find that I was still following the car in front of me as we ducked in and out of the fast lane… too many speed traps in Virginia, like they actually built huge mounds to hide 2-3 cop cars so that the other side cant see them either… gross..  I took some pics and will post when I write again…

Sooo happy to be back in Maryland!
