  • So I love sticking my neck out for my fellow coworkers… there is a lovely after work social event at a bar tomorrow and rather than beating around the bush I asked the Vice President of the company if they will be supplying taxi cab rides for those people that <ahem> cant hold their alcohol, and if they would make it public so that people could plan ahead if they intend on getting hammered in front of their coworkers…

GOOD: Nice to plan for those things and work out carpooling and explaining to the wifey why you are stumbling home

BAD: Very tough to get drunk in front of your supervisor.

  • WOW! I am really into the Olympics!!!  Kinda sucks that is isnt really live and that you hear about who wins long before NBC actually decides to air the events.. but boy was the Freestyle 200 Meter Relay exciting tonite with Phelps starting it off for the US and the US swimmers able to prepare a sizable enough lead before the THorpedo hit the water… WOW! I was so engrossed…  Then I caught some live Olympics on Bravo of the women’s shotput competition and got pretty grossed out.  So another exciting night in the world of Olympic viewing

  • Just an ordinary Sunday for me.  Been watching as much Olimpics as I can but there is definitely something in already knowing the results of all of the events before they even get televised that trips me out.. but still I enjoy watching… I kinda wish they showed more of the finals of the events rather than just the build ups, like how many swimming events did they have to show today when the finals are tomorrow… or even day 1 of the gymnastics when the bigger stuff is on Wednesday meanwhile there are cool events unfolding that dont get the same press such as the synchronized diving  .

Friday I watched Aliens Vs Predators.  Pretty entertaining movie.  Just wish the beginning part werent so damn long and that it is really pretty useless 1st hour… but I dont mean to give it all away.  I was entertained and did not feel it was a waste.

Last night, Shawn and I met up with one of his former coworkers up in Oceanside at Margarita Rocks.. First of all, the club seemed like an 18 and up club and just something about that really trips me out.  Secondly, it was a beach club so people were just super dressed down, and I kinda like clubs were people are dressed to impress.  Thirdly, the dance floor was oodles tiny… like the size of two hummers side by side, so combine that with being a Navy town and you got alot of tall men just standing on the dance floor taking all the oxygen…  So that night was just different, not really fun just different.  I hope everyone else’s weekends were more eventful.

  • Yep, I am moving back to Maryland end of Sept.  The driving plans are still up in the air as I am leaning on doing the cross country drive solo so as to not think of getting anyone with me for the ride…

My reasons for moving vary from the good and bad.  Since I am feeling in a good mood at the moment I will just do the good reasons for the move:
1.) Just miss my friends and family back east too much, I want to be part of people’s stories and jokes and not just the guy people dont have any stories/pictures with

2.) With impending weddings, births, and monumental things coming up I feel it best to save myself from the travel expenses back and forth.

3.) I think I have proven to myself that I can start off on my own out here and feel it is time to come home… I honestly did not feel I could have lasted this long, but one way or another I was able to thanks in large part to being an online dork.

4.) I miss the 4 seasons and the festivals of the east coast and Washington DC area!

5.) Our apartment rent went up by $200… I really could not argue with myself about paying that much more money to just stay in San Diego and have fun.

6.) I am in a really good place at work where people regard me very highly and getting recommendations and transfer should be easy

7.) I want to start saving up lots of money to get an upgrade car, to move out once again from home, and to do more traveling… and to save up for a wedding (ok, she doesnt know it yet)

8.) Some of my best friends moved back to Maryland so it will feel like high school again

9.) I want to look at grad schools in the Maryland area

10.) My girlfriend will be in NYU and so I want to be closer to her and see where are relationship will take us

    Is that enough reasons?
